The Dean Rockwell Scholarship is awarded to those Phi Sigma Phi members who demonstrate the qualities most valued by Phi Sigma Phi: academic excellence, leadership, personal responsibility, and participation in fraternity, campus, and community activities.

Applicants for the Dean Rockwell Scholarship must be current active undergraduate members of Phi Sigma Phi National Fraternity®, Inc., in good standing with their local chapter and the National Fraternity.

Applicants are to complete the Dean Rockwell Scholarship application, which is available from the Phoenix Seven Foundation. The application should be typed, but may be written legibly in ink. The application must be signed by the Chapter President, and the Campus Chapter Advisor (a college or university administration or faculty staff member is the Chapter Campus Advisor, not Greek Director, student Activities Director, etc.)

Letters of recommendation must be submitted by the Chapter President and /or Chapter Vice-President. Letters of recommendation should also be submitted by others outside the chapter familiar with the applicant’s qualifications. These letters may come from campus administrators, faculty, instructors, Phi Sigma Phi National Staff, religious leaders, employers, or any other person or persons willing to provide letters of support for the applicant.

Applicants for the Dean Rockwell Scholarship must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at a college or university campus where an active Phi Sigma Phi chapter is located. Applicants must send verification of their enrollment from their college or university. This verification may take the form of a registration receipt, an official grade transcript, or letter of verification from the campus registrar.

An official signed and verified copy of the applicant’s grade transcripts must be provided from the Campus Registrar’s (or the campus official charged with providing official grade transcripts) office, and sent DIRECTLY to the Phoenix Seven Foundation Office by that campus office.

All Scholarship applications and supporting materials must be received by the National Office by May 31st of the year they are submitted. Materials received after June 1st will not be considered. The Phoenix Seven Foundation is not responsible for materials delayed, damaged, or lost in transit.

The Dean Rockwell Scholarship is given directly to the recipient(s) in the form of a monetary grant. This Scholarship may be used by the recipient in any fashion he chooses. The recipient(s) are selected by the Scholarship Committee, and their decision is final.

All recipients of the Dean Rockwell Scholarship must sign a receipt provided by the Phoenix Seven Foundation Office acknowledging the receipt of the Scholarship.

The Dean Rockwell Scholarship is given without regard to race, color, creed, religion, or national origin.
